It works by reducing the effects of specific mediators that induce anxiety, improving signal transmission to the brain. Additionally, it can help alleviate the severity, frequency, and duration of anxiety symptoms. [4]

Ayurvedic Benefits

1. Lavender Oil for Hair Loss: Lavender oil is an incredibly useful oil for addressing hair-related problems. According to Ayurveda, hair fall is often caused by an aggravated Vata dosha, which also leads to scalp dryness. Lavender oil helps to balance Vata, alleviate excessive dryness, and prevent hair loss.

2. Lavender Oil for Anxiety & Insomnia

Lavender is a useful tool for managing the symptoms of anxiety. According to Ayurveda, Vata governs the movements and actions of the body, including the nervous system. Anxiety is primarily caused by an imbalance of Vata. Lavender is known to help balance Vata and provide a calming effect on the nervous system. Its pleasant scent makes it a popular choice for aromatherapy or as an ingredient in tea.

3. Lavender of Managing Pain:
Lavender is known to help reduce the symptoms of colic, which can be caused by aggravated Vata. Aggravated Vata leads to the formation of gas in the stomach, resulting in colic pain. Using Lavender oil or taking a bath with Lavender can help balance Vata, thereby releasing excessive gas from the stomach and providing relief from colic.

4. Lavender for Acne:
According to Ayurveda, individuals with a Kapha-Pitta dosha skin type are more prone to acne and pimples. When Kapha is aggravated, it leads to increased sebum production, which in turn clogs the pores. This ultimately results in the formation of both whiteheads and blackheads. Applying Lavender oil on the skin can help control sebum production and provide relief from acne, thanks to its Kapha balancing properties.

5. Lavender for Headache:

Lavender is known to help reduce headaches that may be caused by stress or disrupted sleep patterns. According to Ayurveda, stress and disrupted sleep can worsen Vata, which can then lead to headaches. Applying Lavender oil or inhaling its pleasant smell can help reduce stress by calming the nervous system and promoting sound sleep. This is due to its Vata balancing property.
